Beginners

Level 1-Tadpoles

Swimmers will learn introductory swimming skills:

  • Breath control
  • Submersion
  • Destination swimming
  • Body positioning
  • Propulsion, floating and streamlining
  • Student teacher ratio is 3:1 for 3 and 4 year olds and 4:1 for children 5 and older

Level 2-Minnow 1

Swimmers are comfortable in the water and are able to float independently (without a floatation device) and hold their breath for 5 seconds. These classes teach:

  • Body positioning and breath control
  • Rollover breathing
  • Destination swimming
  • Streamlining and kicking
  • Student teacher ratio is 4:1

Level 3-Minnow 2

Swimmers begin freestyle with rolling breathing and backstroke.  These students learn:

  • Rolling from stomach to back
  • Freestyle with rolling breathing
  • Streamlining on back
  • Treading water
  • Student teacher ratio is 4:1
